Qualifications
The English Instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality English language instruction to students in the aviation academy, with a particular focus on English for Aviation, technical communication, and academic English skills. The role involves preparing students to meet the English language proficiency requirements of aviation regulatory bodies (e.g., ICAO standards) and ensuring they can communicate effectively in both academic and professional aviation contexts.
The instructor will design lessons, prepare course materials, assess student progress, and contribute to curriculum development while maintaining academic standards in line with the academy’s quality assurance and accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver English language instruction (General English, English for Aviation, and Academic English) in line with curriculum standards.
- Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments tailored to aviation-related contexts.
- Conduct regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to students.
- Support students in achieving required ICAO Language Proficiency Levels and academic readiness.
- Integrate modern teaching methodologies, e-learning tools, and interactive activities into classroom delivery.
- Participate in curriculum design, review, and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and performance data.
- Collaborate with colleagues, academic coordinators, and training departments to ensure program alignment.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated with ELT and ESP methodologies.
- Contribute to the academy’s quality assurance and accreditation processes.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English (General Language), Aviation Courses, TESOL, or a related field (essential).
- Master’s degree in TESOL, English Education, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Recognized teaching qualifications such as CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, or equivalent (essential).
- Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of English language teaching experience in higher education, technical education, or aviation-related programs.
- Experience in teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP), particularly English for Aviation (preferred).
- Proven track record in curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment design.
- Experience with international English language proficiency standards (e.g., ICAO, IELTS, TOEFL, CEFR).
- Familiarity with blended learning approaches, digital teaching tools, and interactive learning platforms.
- Previous experience in an aviation academy, airline training centre, or technical institute is an advantage.
